This turtle-shaped warship played a major part in the Sa-Cheon Naval Battle during Im Jin War (1592-1598), and successfully led the country to victory. It featured iron plating, guns on all sides, and spikes to prevent enemies from boarding.
The Turtle Ship combines the mastery of ancient engineering intellect with Academys ultra-modern manufacturing techniques. This small warship would have used 10 oarsmen to rapidly propel it across the water towards enemy ships where two "rams" protruding from the bow would possibly be used to sink enemy ships.
Academy has provided a position-able 1.5" x 1" solar panel to the top deck and high efficiency micro electric motor to give the Turtle Boat its mobility combining ancient design with 21st century technology. Display stand too!
