This road leads to World Famous Polebridge, where it is mandatory to stop at the Mercantile for one of their delicious Huckleberry Bear Claws, before venturing beyond, and into the far Northwestern corner of Glacier National Park. While the unpaved road beyond is not for everyone, the rewards are great! The first destination is Bowman Lake, and if you can take 12 more miles of bone-jarring bumps, you find Kintla Lake! (Coming this fall) Both destinations will leave you in awe, and take you away from the crowds of the main parts of the park, where such solitude is nearly impossible to find.
