FEATURES:
- Originally designed for the U.S. Army Air Corps, the Bell Airacobra featured two unusual features: an engine mounted behind the cockpit and a 20 mm or 37 mm cannon housed in the nose. While the Airacobra failed in its introductory role as a fighter, it was able to redeem itself by virtue of huge destructive power of the nose cannon. Used in North Africa against German aircraft and also on the Eastern Front.
