
Saab J-35J "DRAKEN"
Having been developed in 1956 the Saab J35 Draken is a double delta aircraft, capable of flying almost twice the speed of sound. The first D-series model for the Swedish Air Force flew for the first time on december 27, 1960. The Austrian Air Force later received 24 of these. In June 1987 in Sweden, the first aircraft designated J35Ö were officaly handed over to the Austrian Air Force. As a representative for the Austrian Air Force during the main air shows and for the 1000-years celebrations, in 1996 one of the aircraft was given a special livery in the national austrian colours.
