1:144 FA18E SUPER HORNET
by DML (Dragon Models LTD)

A new twin-pack of model F/A-18 Super Hornet aircraft carries a pleasing sensation rather than a sting! The two models contained in the set are both the single-seat F/A-18E, and they are engineered to Dragon’s finest standards. The F/A-18 Super Hornet is a supersonic carrier-based fighter/attack aircraft operated by the U.S. Navy since 1999. It has fully replaced the F-14D Tomcat and will form the backbone of the Navy’s combat aircraft fleet until the arrival of the F-35C.

After assembly, the two model aircraft can be finished in the markings of VFA-105 and VFA-147. VFA-105 “Gunslingers” is based at NAS Oceana in Virginia and was the first East Coast squadron to transition to the F/A-18E in July 2006. High-quality Cartograf decals are provided for the squadron’s markings and “AC” tail code. Meanwhile, VFA-147 “Argonauts”, named after a band of Greek mythological heroes, is based at NAS Lemoore in California. Way back in December 1989, this squadron received its first F/A-18C, but in 2008 the squadron began transitioning to the more capable Super Hornet. Both aircraft are finely detailed and they accurately replicate the aggressive stance of this potent aircraft. This twin-pack is a splendid addition to the range and provides modelers with new F/A-18Es in distinctive markings for both the Atlantic and Pacific theaters.
