1:35 GERMAN OFFICERS -- KURSK 1943
by DML (Dragon Models LTD)

July 3, 1943. There is a sense of anticipation in the air as final preparations are made for tomorrow’s massive attack on Russian defenders in the Kursk salient. A German commander gathers a small knot of troops around him to study his map and discuss their orders in the opening gambit of the attack. It is hot and dry, the steppes parched by the summer heat. They stand in the shade of a Panzer IV tank that is already fueled and armed ready for Operation Citadel, the largest armored conflict in the history of mankind.

Dragon’s newest 1/35 scale figure set depicts such a scene set in Kursk 1943. The lifelike figures include a pair of panzergrenadiers, a senior officer and a tank crewman as they conduct a field briefing before entering into battle. Each character is clothed in a different and unique uniform suitable for his role. Their summer uniforms are sharply molded and cry out for careful painting to bring out the inherent detail. Their facial expressions are also realistic as they discuss the best plan of attack. These figures make an ideal accompaniment for one of Dragon’s recently released Panzer IV tank kits as illustrated in the box-top illustration. However, these figures are so well sculpted and posed that they could be used in just about any summer scenario proposed by modelers!
