Streaking in from the design studio of Dragon is this pair of U.S. Navy F/A-18E strike fighters! Produced to precise dimensional tolerances, these two 1/72 scale plastic aircraft kits are contained in an exciting twin-pack. These two kits easily assemble into excellent miniature renditions of this lethal modern fighter. The F/A-18E/F has operated from the decks of the USA’s super-carrier fleet since 1999, and continues to dominate the skies around the globe.
High-quality Cartograf decals provide markings for VFA-31 “Tomcatters”, the last unit to operationally fly the F-14D Tomcat. However, VFA-31 now exclusively flies the single-seat F/A-18E, and with this model, collectors can capture the sleek and powerful stance of the new Super Hornet that marks a new phase in the squadron’s history. The decals include a cartoon impression of Felix the Cat on the tail. The second model is done up in the markings of VFA-105 “Gunslingers”, a unit based at NAS Oceana in Virginia, and which transitioned to the F/A-18E in July 2006. The black and green livery of VFA-105 looks absolutely stunning. The plastic kits include a full load of ordnance to underscore their lethality, so AIM9X and AGM-88 missiles are all available, as well as fuel tanks to increase their range and endurance. Modelers will want to be quick on the draw to get their paws on this new twin-pack of Super Hornets!
