Sport means cars with optimum racing ability. Sport means a racetrack that maximises the full racing potential of Scalextric cars. Sport means new race oriented track sections. This is Scalextric Sport Track! Sport Track has been designed to be compatible (using the adapter section) in geometric terms to the long established Classic track, however Sport Track differs from Classic in several important areas:
- Track Design Sport track is molded from linear low density polyethalene, which provides 'flat' track without undulations.
- Track Surface A semi smooth racing surface that allows for the maximum amount of tire to touch the track surface thus ensuring maximum grip and the reduction in sudden break away.
- Track Connection Sport track has a unique 'slide and click' connection resulting in the assembly time being approximately one third of that compared to Classic track.
- Rail Joining Specially designed metal 'lugs' ensure that there is reliable electrical contact between two track pieces.
- Rail Depth The metal conductivity rail is flush with the track surface reducing wheel bounce as the cars move over the slots.
- Slot Depth Maximum depth to keep Scalextric car guide blades in position reducing the possibility of the blade 'bottoming' out.
